Italy, March 2016 (Part 1, Venice)
During my sophomore year of high school I was lucky enough to travel with my best friends through my school to Italy. We went to multiple cities and it is still THE most beautiful place I've ever been. If I'm being honest, I don't remember everything about this trip because I kid you not I have the world's worst memory, but I'm gonna pull some things together for to highlight all of my favorite places.
First stop was Venice, and omg it fully lived up to all of the pictures you've probably every seen. When we got off the boat to get there, there is just a strip of buildings all different colors, that didn't even look real because it was so beautiful.
Once you enter the main square, St. Mark's Square, you are almost fully enclosed by beautiful architecture, where there's different food stands, people playing music, and a wild amount of birds.
Another major historic site to see here is the Palazzo Ducale. It's the most beautiful from center, similar to St. Mark's Square.
After taking in all of the history and beauty of Venice, in my opinion, a MUST do is a gondola ride. As cliche as it sounds, it's actually super fun and you learn a lot. Also if you're lucky, your captain will sing to you in Italian :)
to be continued.....XO lex
